Fall Skin Care Adjustments to Make Now
Stress not only wreaks havoc on your body, but also your skin. 2020 has been filled with stress and many of you are showing signs of it through the quality of your skin. As we transition from summer to fall, it’s the perfect time to evaluate your skin’s condition, make adjustments to your routine and start reversing the effects of stressed skin.
What is stressed skin?
Before we go any further, you should know the signs of stressed skin. It comes in many forms. Some of the most common are the increased appearance of:
- Pigmentation
- Wrinkles
- Fine lines
- Acne
- Dryness
Loss of elasticity is also a common sign of skin stress.
Shaking your head yes? Here’s what you need to do.
If you’re reading this and thinking “yep, that’s me!” it’s time to schedule a consultation. Once you’ve had a Luxe Consultation and Skin Analysis, I will come up with a treatment plan to help you start moving in the right direction. Most of my clients need to be on Pro-Aging Level 3-4 for a more intense jump. If you’re struggling with acne prone skin, I’ll probably start you on my Luxe Acne Clear Skin Program.
Adjusting Your Skin Care for the Seasons
The plan that I customize for you will include products. We’ll make sure you have the right products to address and reverse the issues you’re currently having, plus prevent them from recurring in the future. Also, when you’re in one of my programs, I’m continuously monitoring your skin to determine if we need to make product adjustments.
But, whether you’re experiencing these issues or not, fall is a good time to evaluate your skin care routine. As the weather changes, you may need to re-evaluate some of the products you’re using, like your moisturizer and SPF. During the summer, you may use a higher SPF for added protection while your spending more time outside. We may be able to adjust that during the winter when you’re inside more.
Moisturizer is anther product to evaluate for fall. Many of you wear lighter moisturizers during summer to avoid clogging your pores. During the winter, you may need to switch to a richer moisturizer that can act as a barrier against the impact of the cold weather and artificial heat we’re exposed to.
Lastly, it’s always good to take a look at how and how often you’re exfoliating. Over exfoliating or using a harsh exfoliator can do more harm than good. As the seasons change, your exfoliation needs may change, so it’s always good to go over your exfoliation routine with me too!
In-Studio Treatments Perfect for Fall
Addressing pigmentation issues is the perfect skin care concern to tackle in the fall. With less sun exposure, we can make significant improvements to your skin through in-studio treatments and at-home products. Dehydrated skin is also one of the most common issues I see in the studio this time of year. I recently treated a client for dehydrated skin using Pro-Aging level 3 with LED, Microcurrent and an Intense Hydrating Jelly Mask. She left with Luxe Skin Care’s Hydra Restore to use at home and her results have been amazing!
So let’s get ready to walk into 2021 and leave all the stress of 2020 skin behind! Schedule a consultation today. We’ll analyze your skin, adjust your products and start addressing your concerns in one relaxing appointment.
